Scottish Computer Assignment
Project (SCAP)
ScotLanka Network will undertake to refurbish used
computers donated by Universities, Colleges, organisations and
individuals in Scotland. Refurbishment will be carried out under
Microsoft Authorised Refurbishing license. All refurbished computers
will only be offered for charitable purposes in Scotland and in
Sri Lanka.
ScotLanka Network has therefore decided to offer
refurbished computers in three different categories under Scottish
Computer Assignment Project (SCAP) as follows:
1. Lending fully refurbished computers to individuals
living in those areas identified as within the worst 15% Data
Zones. The loan would be for a minimum period of one year at a
nominal fee of £1 per week. Priority will be given to: unemployed
adults; asylum seekers and refugees; school children; and students
eligible for fee waiver.
2. Refurbished computers will be sold to Scottish
Charities and Community-based organisations at a very reasonable
price.
3. Donate shipments of refurbished computers to
most deserving poor schools in Sri Lanka.
